Hey there Bookmarks readers!

As most of you know by now, Aurora Cable was bought by Rogers. Naturally, that meant many changes to our community programming - sadly, it also meant the end to Bookmarks on Channel 10.

But all is not lost!

I am now working as a children's book editor - that means I actually get to help MAKE kids' books. How great is that!

Also, I'm becoming a regular guest on Daytime, a daily show on Rogers Cable. The hosts, Jacqueline and Jeff are really nice, and they are very interested in kids books too!

I'll post any dates that I'm going to be on Daytime here on the website. In the meantime, check out Daytime on December 15th to find out all about some of my favourite holiday season books.

Right now, I'm reading a grat book called The Nine Lives of Travis Keating. It's about a boy who moves to a little town in Newfoundland with his dad, after his mom dies. There, he has to deal with a bully and a whole bunch of feral (wild) cats. It is such a wonderful story - adventure, courage, sacrifice... I highly recommend it. It's perfect for boys or girls from about Gr.4 - Gr. 8.

Have you read any of Melanie Watt's picture books? If you haven't, you really should! Watt has written the wildly popular "Scaredy Squirrel" books - Scaredy Squirrel won the Silver Birch reader's choice award in 2007- and her latest one, Chester, is hilarious too. Chesteris a self-obsessed fat orange cat who wants tobe the hero of Melanie Watt's next book - and he is very pushy about it.
